In May we actually caught the Covid!  It was kind of exciting.  Not very many people have had it yet.  We didn't get too sick but we had to stay quarantined for 2 weeks while it ran through the family.

Christian is getting ready for his mission.  He got his wisdom teeth pulled after the dentist offices could open up again.  His biggest worry on the way home was why the dentist didn't say good-bye to him and how he got into the car.  

 Amber put together a camp for the girls and they had a fun time doing crafts, playing games and sleeping in the tent!

 Christian graduated!  With High Honors!  And with some concurrent enrollment cords.  We couldn't get out of the car so just went through the drive-thru procession and then they dropped his diploma through the window that was open an inch.  Then we went to In-N-Out, drove up the canyon and went home and watched a movie.  Pretty lame, but we couldn't do anymore.  So proud of this kid!  There were days I didn't think he'd make it.

 Restaurants started opening back up in the middle of May so I took Alyssa out for her birthday and Grandma out for mother's day.  It was so nice to get out!  Scott and I were excited for Bombay House to open back up, but they weren't yet so we had to get takeout and eat at the park.  It was still a perfect date.

Alivia is officially a teenager!  Her favorite place was open--Noodle King so we took her there and then went and looked for teapots.  She got spoiled on her birthday!  Someone decorated our door, she got so many letters and presents dropped off.  She's a loved girl.

April

April scenes from stay-at-home directive.  The governor never put us on strict lockdown, but asked everyone to "stay safe, stay home."  We weren't to leave the house except for essential things.  So we got creative and had fun!  It was tough not seeing friends or going out, but we also enjoyed spending more time together.  The grocery stores were wiped out for a few weeks (toilet paper was the hot commodity) but we used our pantry storage and did pretty well!

We each had a computer to work on for school, thank goodness.  I worked on my laptop at the table (I helped a teacher with his online class and then checked up on some of our priority families), Alyssa joined me when she got home from school, Amber worked in the living room, Soran worked in her room (and the rest of the house--she moved around a lot), Alivia worked on the downstairs computer and Christian was in his room.  It worked out but the house was full!

Amber took up face painting, crochet, and piano.  Alivia started embroidering, coloring, puzzles and playing her violin.  Soran went to Halle's house a lot and played on her hoverboard.  I organized and sewed masks because the hospitals were running out.

We had some fun activities too.  Scott did a Tepanyaki night, we did a spa night with daddy for Mutual, did a paint night with cheese and bread, went to the drive in, hiked a ton, rode our bikes a lot and learned the Napoleon Dynamite dance. We also had several movie marathons: Avatar, Stranger Things, and the Marvel movies.

March

 Amber got her braces off the day of her party!  She turned sweet 16 this year.  We did an escape room and then birthday cake.  And she had her first date with dad, of course.  He asked her out with a train and some gum.  Never gonna forget that.

After Amber's party the world started closing down to try and flatten the curve of Covid-19.  The following week they closed church.  And then school.  I knew restaurants were soon to follow so we went out for reading the Book of Mormon.  Just in time.  They closed the restaurants the next day.

Alyssa was able to take out her endowments the day before they closed the temples.  It was a special experience and I am proud of her for wanting to do it.  It was a small group because they limited people, but it was amazing.

First home church and I was going crazy!  So we took the kids to the Salt Flats and did some pictures.  I love them! It was worth the 2 hour drive.

The kids did great the first week of the school closure.  But then it started getting harder.  Livi coped by organizing things.  She did the bookcase a few days, then moved to closets, then the house.  Lucky me!

With the closures came opportunities to serve.  We went to the food bank to help sort food.  And I shopped for our neighbors who were high risk.  We also chalked our neighbors' sidewalks with messages, took cookies around, and invited John over for dinner once a week because he was lonely. 

The Coffman's are the best!  They sewed us all masks.  We laughed and put them on the counter and thought that was it.
